West of England Partnership
South Gloucestershire Council is one of the four unitary authorities that form the West of England Partnership where we work with a range of social, economic and environmental partners to co-ordinate high level planning to improve the quality of life of West of England residents and provide for a growing population.
Our partners include Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and North Somerset Council.
West of England Combined Authority
In February 2017 the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) was established which includes Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils.
Through the Combined Authority, more decisions are made locally on areas such as transport, housing and skills. Previously these decisions have been made by central government in London.
WECA also works with partners including the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, North Somerset Council and others, to deliver economic growth for the wider region.
You can read more on the West of England Combined Authority website.
